Costa Rica

9 days, 9 nights through the jungles & beaches of Travel & Leisure’s Top Destination of 2024: COSTA RICA

What Will We Do?

  • Day 1: Arrival & Salsa / Cooking Lesson

We will arrive into San Jose Airport followed by a private transfer to La Fortuna. After settling into our hotel, we’ll get the party started with a lively Salsa Dancing Class and getting to know everyone over a delicious cooking class!

  • Day 2: White Water Rafting

The adventures begin. This morning we will be White Water Rafting in class 3&4 on the Balsa River. Get ready for some fun with some of my favorite tour guides! After stopping for an Imperial (Costa Rican beer), our white water rafting hosts will bring us back to their farm to have lunch, followed by a visit of their farm and a lesson in sugar cane.

  • Day 3: Ziplining & Forest Critters

Today we’re ziplining with views of the Arenal Volcano. I hope you aren’t afraid of heights? Because we have 7 ziplines to conquer. Afterwards, we have lunch (still with a view of the volcano). Then tonight, we look for critters! Once it’s dark, our guide will take us through the forest with flashlights to learn about the critters of Costa Rica - hopefully we even see a few sloths!

  • Day 4: ATV's & Canyoning

Time to hop on some ATV’s an go off-roading! One of my favorite activities. We’ll spend a few hours in the morning on our ATV’s exploring the rainforests of La Fortuna. Afterwards, we’ll have lunch then head to our next activity: Canyoning.

What is canyoning? It’s essentially a combination of hiking & rock climbing.. in the water. But don’t worry, we are with the experts!

  • Day 5: Bridges, Waterfalls, & Hot Springs

Today we scale it back a notch on the adventures. It’s time to take a relax day before we pack out bags and head to the beach tomorrow. This morning, we head to the famous hanging bridges, then to La Fortuna Waterfall where it takes 500 steps down to reach it. But the end result is absolutely incredible. After lunch here, we head to Tabacon Hot Springs where we will marinate in the gorgeous warm natural hot springs at one of the best resorts in La Fortuna.

  • Day 6: Ferries & Beach Dinner

It’s time to say goodbye to La Fortuna and hola to Santa Teresa! It’ transfer day. Our driver will take us to the ferry, where we’ll have lunch and enjoy the views along the way together. Don’t worry, the ferry has adult drinks. After our journey, we unpack at the Bungalows! This complex of six bungalows is all ours for the next two nights - only steps to the beach. After unwinding, we’ll meet for a dinner on the beach of Santa Teresa (haven’t you always wanted to eat dinner with your feet in the sand in Costa Rica?)

  • Day 7: Surfing & Horseback Riding

Whether your a thrill seeker or want to find some inner peace, there will be a perfect activity for you. This morning you will get to choose between a surfing lesson or yoga class on the beach. Enjoy your afternoon exploring Santa Teresa and we’ll finish the day with horseback riding on the beach at sunset!

  • Day 8: Boats & Bioluminescence

Today is an especially exciting day - we will be taking a private boat tour to Isla Tortuga, where we’ll have lunch and enjoy our few hours there. After the optional banana boats, jet skis, and beach bar, we’ll get back on our private boat to Bahia Rica beach, where our hosts will provide us with a pizza party on their property. Once it’s dark enough, we’ll finish the day with an awe-inspiring kayak tour in which we will get to admire the bioluminescence (fun fact: this is one of the only places in the world where you can see the bioluminescence all year round)

  • Day 9: Farewell Dinner

Today, we head to our last destination - San Jose. If time permits, we’ll make a stop along the way. Otherwise, let’s check into our hotel for the night and meet back up for our farewell dinner.

  • Day 10: Departure

Today, we head back home - wherever that may be.
